Flood Floorshows/Hardcore is one of the most promising and genuine labels we have here in Belgium. So when they gave me the green light to post their releases I was beyond stoked. So please check out these bands and their music, Flood has an eye for passionate hardcore and I know most of the people visiting this blog do to. Let's get to it!
They have some other sweet releases on their Bandcamp page (http://floodhc.bandcamp.com/) too. Go and support this awesome label any way you can, and maybe just start by liking them on Facebook and being kept up to date with all the cool things they do. Voila, FACEBOOK
FLOOD01: Continents. - ...And
Silence Anchored Our Feet In Granite
Genre : Screamo / Melodic
I loved Contintents. since the very beginning of this band and everyone who has been following the blog over the years knows this. When their debut EP came out I was playing this thing all the damn time. Anyway, this is their second release and it pretty much picks up right where the previous thing stopped. Emotive and heartfelt screamo, but they stepped things up a notch, anyway if you're into the genre this is pretty flawless.
FLOOD02: GTTRS - Sunlit World
Genre : Dark (Metallic) Hardcore / Sludge
GTTRS were a dark hardcore band from Antwerp, who managed to get quite some recognition in their short lived time as a band. They find a mix between dragging, heavy and dark riffs and a touch of melody, which is a pretty working combination. Anyway, they disbanded a while ago and they are all working on some new music. Some of them formed Caravan, their EP will be posted some time soon.
FLOOD03: The Homeless - In
Loving Memory Of What Could Have Been
Genre: Melodic Hardcore / Screamo / Emo
The Homeless, hailing from Hamme, play a very emotive kind of hardcore / screamo that'll hit you right in the guts with their powerful lyrics. To me they sound like a kind of old school More Than Life, but that's for you to decide. This is their first full length, and it's something a fan of honest and heartfelt music can't pass by. They're touring quite a bit in the near future so if you see their name on a poster somewhere near you, go out and take a look.
FLOOD04: Crows-An-Wra - s/t
Genre: Skramz Screamo
You all remember Crocus right ? And Ravachol ? Both were some damn kick ass bands from a few years ago, if you had no idea then go and check that out since they're pretty amazing. Anyway, what we have here is a best of both worlds thing, members of the previously mentioned bands came together to form Crows-An-Wra and some sweet music. The genre description says it all, it's 5 tracks of original and refreshing stuff.
FLOOD05: Midnight Souls -
Always
Genre: Melodic Hardcore
I certainly hope these guys don't need any introduction. They were one of the nicest and most passionate melodic hardcore bands that ever came out of Belgium. Here we have their last track ever recorded, and man, did they go out with a bang.
FLOOD06: Continents.- In
Streams Of Light Doth Linger
Genre: Screamo / Melodic Hardcore
I've said it before and I'll say it again, this band continues to blow my mind. This three track EP manages to be their best yet, and I found their demo EP to be flawless. They keep on killing it with sweet melodies that mange to be haunting at the same time, great lyricism (!) and just a strong and coherent overall vibe.
FLOOD07: The Cold Harbour -
Seasons
Genre : Emotive Hardcore
Everyone who has been on this blog or just listenend / showed interest in the melodic branch of hardcore in general should know about this band. Ever since their debut release they have been pretty much flawless. They're almost always on the road too so there really is not a single excuse you can give me as to why you don't know all about these dudes already. So, I mentioned them being pretty much flawless on their debut, well, on their latest release called "Season" they just are. Really, I can't give any complaints other than it's only four songs long and they had me wanting more.
